Teacher explains about drought and how people can reduce the impacts of drought, “Water and life cannot be separated. When there is little or no water for a long period of time, it is hard to survive. This is called a drought.”
This guide shows that water in Africa is two-sided: it generates both life and death. It aims to help teachers and students to know more about the water risks, water disasters, and what should be done to protect the community and their assets.
This publication is part of a series published since the inception of the ISDR that brings together relevant official documents related to ISDR and related subjects, including UN General Assembly resolutions and reports of the UN Secretary-General. This third volume includes documents for the period of 2003-2005.
