Workshop report: Evidence in disaster preparedness - anticipating complex crises in a context of systemic risk
This workshop was driven by one the main challenges faced by the humanitarian sector: the urgent need to shift from a reactive response to crises to more proactive and forward-looking actions, with evidence-based anticipatory action in all aspects of humanitarian aid and effective disaster risk reduction (DRR) as guiding references.
The aim is to achieve better preparedness at multiple levels to reduce humanitarian impact and losses and to better manage situations of forced displacement, one of the aggravating factors hitting the LAC region hardest.
