In Dadaab, Kenya, a 3-day workshop brought local leaders, refugees & partners together to build urban resilience. Under MCR2030, they drafted a DRR action plan uniting host & refugee communities to tackle climate risks & disasters.

This series is promoted by UNDRR, in partnership with the Ministry of Cities and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to leverage DRR knowledge concerning climate resilience and adaptation for local governments leading up to and during COP30.

UNDRR and IFC convened over 350 participants from around the world for a groundbreaking webinar exploring two complementary resilience tools: the Resilience Maturity Assessment (ReMA) and the Building Resilience Index (BRI).

At UNGA 80, participants highlighted the need for universal early warning coverage, stronger governance on extreme heat, and whole-of-society solutions ahead of COP30 in Belém.

Over three days, participants exchanged knowledge and generated practical solutions for embedding recovery readiness into policies, financing systems, and institutional arrangements.

A new three-year initiative to boost disaster and climate resilience in the Western Balkans was launched this week.
