Early warning and early action in the Pacific
This publication examines how Pacific nations are advancing early warning and early action systems to better protect communities from growing climate and disaster risks. It outlines national progress under the global Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative and Weather Ready Pacific, featuring examples from Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and Tonga. The report explores how countries are integrating traditional knowledge with scientific and technological innovations to ensure that warnings reach everyone—especially vulnerable and remote populations. It also discusses regional initiatives such as Weather Ready Pacific and identifies next steps for building inclusive, people-centered systems that turn timely warnings into life-saving action across the Pacific.
