This is a conference report of the Fifth World Tsunami Museum Conference (WTMC5) which was held on 14 October 2024 during the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR 2024) in the Philippines.

This report is the third edition of the Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) Synthesis and Analysis Report, showcasing stakeholders’ contributions to implementing the Sendai Framework, as submitted and published on the SFVC online platform.

Building on the previous World Tsunami Museum Conferences, the Fourth World Tsunami Museum Conference (WTMC4) was held at the International Research Institute for Disaster Science in Tohoku University in City of Sendai, Japan, on 15 December 2022.

This regional analysis shares an overview of the voluntary commitments in the Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments online platform covering Asia and Oceania and an analysis of these VCs against the Asia-Pacific Action Plan for the Sendai Framework.

This report provides synthesis and analysis of Voluntary Commitments as well as informs the Midterm Review (MTR) of the implementation of the Sendai Framework.

Main results suggest that VCs have an average duration of 6.5 years, the scope of their activities is predominantly at the national or local levels (58 percent) and are concentrated mainly in the Asia region.
