On 12 July 2022 UNDRR ROECA conducted a stress testing workshop in Tajikistan

The Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for South-Eastern Europe (DPPI SEE), established in 2000, provides a framework for SEE countries to strengthen their capacities to prevent and respond to hazards.

Experts from Kazakhstan were trained to use the DesInventar-Sendai disaster loss management system thanks to the European Union (EU) funded project on strengthening disaster resilience in Central Asia.

In order to call for greater political attention on the increase of climate-related disasters in Europe and globally ahead of the COP27, the UN and EP held an exchange with policy-makers and resilience experts to craft recommendations for the way forward.

UNDRR conducted an inception workshop on the development of a Monitoring Information System (MIS) of the implementation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy in Tajikistan.

UNDRR conducted a consultative workshop to discuss the results and planned actions to strengthen the country’s DRM System. Participants included a wide range of stakeholders from different sectors engaged in disaster risk reduction in Tajikistan.

Through financial support from the European Union, the city of Dushanbe and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) conducted two self-assessment workshops focused on disaster resilience.
