From governance reform to early action: expanding early warning systems in the DRC

The Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo hosted a national workshop on the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative from 28 to 29 January 2026. The workshop built upon two landmark DRM decrees the DRC adopted in 2025.

Kampala Capital City Authority becomes MCR Resilience Hub

As a result of the city's commitments to DRR, UNDRR has recognised Kampala as an MCR Resilience Hub. The city was officially acknowledged during the National-Level event on MCR2030, held on 19–20 February 2026.

A song that saves lives: Tsunami awareness through music in Timor-Leste

To counter the widespread misconception that Timor-Leste is safe from tsunamis, UNDRR teamed up with the Civil Protection Authority, UNESCO-IOC and Pacifico to hold a week of public awareness activities at schools to mark World Tsunami Awareness Day.
