The EFDRR Roadmap Action-Oriented Dialogue on ‘Understanding and communicating existing and future risks: Ensuring evidence-based communication’ is taking place in Bucharest this week on 23-24 February.

Among the MCR2030 success stories of 2022 are numerous cities like Kulhuffushi City in the Maldives and Ormoc and Baguio City in the Philippines that are currently developing local disaster risk reduction (DRR) plans.

In preparation for the High-Level Meeting on the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, the UNDRR ROAS organized an online conference to brief the Sendai Framework National Focal Points on the meeting.

UNDRR ROAS organized a 4-day national workshop in Sudan on Sendai Framework Monitor & Disaster Loss Accounting System to train participants on Disaster Loss and Damage Database through introducing "DesInventar-Sendai" system software and its methodology.

The National Council for Civil Defense in Sudan and the Regional Science and Technology Advisory Centre held the second National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in Sudan.

UNDRR and CESDRR organised a final meeting to mark the closure and showcase the achievements of the EU-funded “Strengthening disaster resilience and accelerating implementation of Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in Central Asia” project.

SME workshop in Serbia

The Prime Ministers of Barbados and Saint Lucia, and the heads of FAO, UNEP and WMO, joined UNDRR to launch the first regional Early Warnings For All Initiative in the Caribbean.
