The United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia (UCLG MEWA) is organizing a 2-day training on Disaster Risk Reduction and Urban Resilience for Arab Cities, in collaboration with the UNDRR ROAS, UCLG Learning, and Arab Towns Organization.

This workshop will serve as an official launch of the MCR2030 in Mongolia, and as an orientation for key national and local government stakeholders. It will support cities in their resilience journey.

It becomes more evident that disasters can cause multiple damages to the core societal functions that can result in a decrease in the quality of life. The event will focus on exploring the modalities, experiences & benefits of investing in DRR in SEE.

The climate emergency calls however for enhanced collaboration and common strategies to tackle extreme weather and building on existing national plans or measures in an effort to move beyond the traditional focus on disaster response.

This course serves as an introductory training on urban and local resilience for OCD, local government unites, and affiliated organizations.

To raise the awareness of local and regional media representatives on climate change and UNDRR activities with a focus on the linkage between climate change and disaster risk reduction in alignment with the national DRR strategies and Sendai Framework.

During IDDRR, discover the latest drone technologies that are accelerating progress towards disaster resilience and sustainable development, mitigating underlying vulnerabilities and inequalities for the most exposed.
