The Win DRR Award, the Risk Award and the Sasakawa Award recognize excellence, innovation and leadership in disaster risk reduction.
The inaugural Women’s International Network for Disaster Risk Reduction (WIN DRR) Leadership Awards have been granted to Ms. Vasiti Soko, Director of the National Disaster Management Office in Fiji, and Dr. Nuraini Rahma Hanifa, an earthquake scientist who founded U-INSPIRE Alliance which brings together young professionals in science, engineering and technology to reduce disaster risk.
In 2021, the Women’s International Network on Disasters Risk Reduction (WIN DRR) will award two cash prizes to highlight the work of women who are changing the field of disaster risk reduction by using inclusive approaches and demonstrating leadership in a previously male-dominated field.
