Priority 4: Enhancing disaster preparedness for effective response, and to «Build Back Better», rehabilitation and reconstruction

In Tajikistan, from 12-14 November 2025, an important training workshop on using risk knowledge for multi-hazard early warning systems took place within the framework of the project “Strengthening resilience to disasters and climate change in Tajikistan.”

On 15 December 2025, Tajikistan National Pillar Leads convened a coordination meeting with the relevant state agencies to review the implementation of the National Roadmap on Enhancing Early Warning System in the country.

This article highlights how the 2024 floods in Rio Grande do Sul triggered a coordinated response with UNDRR, the Dutch DRRS team, and international partners to embed resilient recovery and “Build Back Better” principles into reconstruction.
