Early Warning Systems for Tsunami Preparedness and Response

The webinar Early Warning Systems for Tsunami Preparedness and Response was hosted by UNDRR on 11th December 2024. The webinar aimed to explore the evolution of tsunami preparedness in the two decades since the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, focusing on lessons learned, understanding the changing dynamics of tsunami hazards and highlighting successful examples of advancement in tsunami early warning from diverse regions. Furthermore, it aimed to outline the path forward for tsunami early warning in the broader context of the global Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative, which seeks to universalise minimum core capabilities for early warning by 2027.
