Webinar: Advancing Inclusive and Last-Mile Early Warning Systems in Africa
Time: 14:00 -15:30 EAT
The Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative aims to ensure that every person is protected by effective early warning systems by 2027. While significant progress has been made in strengthening multi-hazard early warning systems across Africa, ensuring that warnings reach, are understood, trusted, and acted upon by those most at risk remains a critical challenge.
The recent Africa Early Warnings Forum and its Addis Ababa Call to Action reinforced the importance of strengthening inclusive last-mile early warning systems through community engagement, accessible communication channels, volunteer networks, anticipatory action, and stronger collaboration among governments, National Societies, civil society, telecommunications providers, and local communities.
This webinar aims to advance dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration on strengthening inclusive and last-mile early warning systems across Africa as a key enabler of the Early Warnings for All initiative. It will bring together stakeholders working across the EWS pillars to explore how warning systems can better serve vulnerable and marginalized populations and translate warnings into timely early action.
