Bonn Technical Forum 2026: Data as the lever for coherent climate action
UN Campus, Bonn, Germany
About
The 2026 edition of the Bonn Technical Forum will focus on a practical challenge at the heart of resilience-building: how countries can better connect policy and data to translate global commitments into coherent, integrated action. As countries work to align disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, loss and damage, National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and broader development priorities, the forum will explore where these connections are already being made successfully and what enables progress. Particular attention will be given to the governance arrangements, financing mechanisms, and institutional capacities that help turn fragmented commitments into coordinated national strategies.
The forum will also examine how policymakers can move from planning to implementation by identifying the information and evidence needed to prioritize investments, guide decision-making, and measure results. Discussions will focus on how existing and emerging sources of disaster and resilience data can better support these needs, including insights generated through DELTA Resilience and the Sendai Framework Monitor. By bridging the gap between data and action, participants will explore practical approaches to strengthen risk-informed decision-making and accelerate progress towards resilience goals at national and local levels.
In-person and online. Participation by invitation only.
