About
Mobile populations, including refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), migrants in vulnerable situations, asylum-seekers, stateless persons, nomadic and pastoralist communities, and other people on the move, often face significant barriers to accessing and acting on early warnings. To support the integration of mobility considerations into MHEWS, UNDRR, WMO, ITU, IFRC and IOM jointly developed the Operational Guidance on Early Warning Systems for Mobile Populations. The guidance provides practical considerations, recommendations and tools to support governments and partners in designing and implementing more inclusive systems that reach and protect people on the move.
This webinar marks the official launch of the guidance and provides an opportunity to introduce its key concepts and recommendations, foster dialogue among disaster risk management, humanitarian and migration stakeholders, and encourage the integration of mobility considerations into MHEWS implementation efforts.
