Report of the Secretary-General on the Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (2023)

The present report has been prepared as requested by the General Assembly in its resolution 77/164 on disaster risk reduction. It provides an overview of progress made towards meeting the goal, global targets and priorities for action of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 and includes findings and recommendations from the midterm review of the Framework.

Pursuant to resolution 77/164 , the report also includes a section on the implementation of the United Nations action plan to ensure that every person on Earth is protected by early warning systems within five years under the Early Warnings for All initiative. The report also contains an overview of the global response to address the impacts of the El Niño phenomenon, pursuant to General Assembly decision 74/537 B.
