Addressing loss and damage in the Pacific

This publication examines how Pacific countries are addressing loss and damage caused by the growing impacts of climate change—stronger storms, sea level rise, and prolonged droughts. It highlights how the Santiago network under the UNFCCC is helping governments access technical expertise, resources, and capacity building to better manage these challenges. Through the network, UNDRR supports Pacific nations in improving data collection, strengthening risk governance, and integrating loss and damage into national policies and resilience strategies. The publication underscores the importance of regional collaboration, access to climate finance, and community-led solutions to protect lives, livelihoods, and cultural heritage across the Pacific.
