This paper addresses risk assessment in megacities by using an integrated approach, mutual comparisons and exchange of data.
This paper is a summary of presentation by Mr. Yoshikazu Kitagawa, Director of the International Institute of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering, made at the technical session "Natural disaster reduction: effects of disasters on modern societies" at the World Conference on Natural Disaster Reduction, Yokohama, Japan, 23-27 May 1994.
