16th Africa Working Group on Disaster Risk Reduction

The main objective of the session was to review progress and agree on the next steps to advance progress with respect to the implementation of action points from the last virtual meeting as well as strategic priorities and decisions in the Tunis Declaration and the Africa Common Position to the 2019 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction. The meeting was also an opportunity for the Group to generate substantive input to shape and finalize the programme for the forthcoming eighth session of the Africa Regional Platform and seventh High-Level Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction and the seventh High-Level Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction, Programme of Action for the Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 in Africa (POA) for 2021-2025, and the COVID-19 Recovery Framework for Africa.
