Nairobi, Kenya – 21 May, 2025 –Today, Kenya officially took a major step towards protecting lives and livelihoods from disasters through its national launch of the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative.

On 3-4, March 2025, a delegation from Mozambique visited Tanzania's Emergency Operations and Communication Centre (EOCC) National Situation Room in Dodoma, as part of the African Multi-Hazard Early Warning and Action System (AMHEWAS) programme.

The Dadaab refugee complex in Garissa County has been continuously expanding since its creation in 1991. Home to more than 400,000 people, the three camps that make up the complex welcome victims of conflict and persecution but also climate shocks.

From 9 to 13 December 2024 in Kampala, Uganda, experts from disaster management, meteorology, and hydrology authorities from across the region gathered to address the transboundary challenges posed by drought and flood in the Horn of Africa.
