A notable barrier to better uptake of global risk data in many countries is the lack of standardization and digital systems, making it challenging to compare, integrate, and apply risk data effectively within and across national organizations.

There is a lack of awareness among stakeholders about what risk data is already available, and countries are typically sceptical about the data from global risk datasets, especially if they were not included in data collection or the development process.
