Geneva, Switzerland, July 2026 – The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), in partnership with the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG) and the Corporate Chief Resilience Officers (CCRO) Network, successfully delivered the first French-language webinar on the Resilience Maturity Assessment (ReMA) tool, bringing practical resilience guidance to businesses across the Francophone community.

The event, titled “Évaluez la solidité de votre organisation face aux risques : Testez gratuitement votre résilience avec l’outil ReMA”, introduced participants to a growing reality facing organisations of all sizes: risks are becoming increasingly interconnected, complex, and difficult to anticipate.

Cyberattacks, geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, emerging technologies, and climate-related hazards are no longer isolated challenges. Instead, they interact in ways that can amplify vulnerabilities across business operations, value chains, and markets. Against this backdrop, speakers emphasised that resilience is no longer simply about responding to crises—it is about preparing organisations to better understand, manage, and adapt to uncertainty.

The webinar featured contributions from Mathieu Verougstraete (UNDRR), Cédrick Moriggi (CCRO Network), and Christophe Barben (Lombard Odier), with an introduction by Romain Duriez (CCIG). Participants were introduced to the ReMA tool, a free and confidential self-assessment developed by UNDRR with the support of the international CCRO Network, enabling organisations to evaluate their resilience maturity and identify practical actions for improvement.

“When a solution works, it should be shared,” noted Cédrick Moriggi during the discussion. “The objective is to make tools and approaches that have traditionally been used by large organisations accessible to SMEs as well.”

The speakers showcased how ReMA helps organisations assess resilience across six operational pillars: governance, culture, organisation, operating model, value chain, and capacity. They also provided tailored recommendations, templates, and guidance for strengthening preparedness and long-term adaptation.

The session also highlighted the broader value of resilience data. By aggregating anonymous inputs from organisations across sectors and geographies, ReMA contributes to building a global evidence base that can help identify trends, benchmark performance, and support more risk-informed decision-making.

The webinar marks an important milestone in UNDRR’s efforts to scale private-sector engagement on disaster risk reduction and resilience. Through its collaboration with CCIG, UNDRR was able to reach a wider business audience and promote practical resilience solutions among companies seeking to navigate an increasingly uncertain risk landscape.

The initiative also reflects the growing contribution of the Corporate Chief Resilience Officers (CCRO) Network, a group of senior resilience leaders from major global companies working with UNDRR to advance resilience practices and share knowledge across the private sector.

As businesses continue to face mounting and interconnected risks, a key message emerged from the event: resilience is not merely a safeguard against disruption; it can become a strategic advantage for organisations that invest in preparedness today.
