Apply for a virtual booth at AfRP Marketplace

The application for a virtual booth is now closed.

The Government of the Republic of Kenya will host the Eighth Africa Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Seventh High-Level Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction from 16-19 November, 2021. The events, are organized by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). The Africa Regional Platform will be held under the over-arching theme: “Towards Disaster Risk-Informed Development for a Resilient Africa in a COVID-19 Transformed World”.  The events on 16-18 November will be held virtually, while the High-level/Ministerial session on 19 November will be in hybrid format in Nairobi, Kenya.

During the AfRP, a marketplace on the virtual platform will be organized from 16-18 November, where partners can show case and present their projects that are related to disaster risk reduction as well as the over-arching theme of the AfRP. With the virtual booth, vendors will be able to engage the audience in various ways. The booth can feature a live stream video chat, screen sharing a PPT presentation, or pre-recorded video and organize live sessions for Q&A or workshops. Vendors will also be able to use the chat function to interact with the audience. It is also possible to combine two options. For example, vendors can have staff run the live video chat during specified times throughout the day and have video content play for the remainder of the time. For the live stream video chat vendors can have up to 10 people on screen at any one time, which may include staff and booth attendees that may have questions for the moderator.

Partners and stakeholders interested in presenting at the marketplace are kindly requested to fill out an application form before 29 October 2021. This form is sent out to collect information in preparation for the development of the virtual marketplace. And further instructions on how to set up the virtual vendor booth will be distributed later.
