Webinar United system-wide efforts to build climate and disaster resilience

The webinar aims to highlight the importance of risk considerations in development, humanitarian and peacebuilding planning and actions at the country level. It showcases good practices and examples of integrating climate and disaster risk in joint planning exercises and highlights the role of Resident Coordinators and RC Offices and United Nations Country Teams (UNCTs) members in the Americas and the Caribbean. It provides information and tools to strengthen the RC/RCO and UNCT capacity to support national governments in integrating disaster risk reduction and resilience-building efforts into their development agendas. The webinar will also highlight regional resources and capacities.

 

Expected Outcomes:

  1. Increased understanding of the United Nations Action Plan on Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilience and the 2030 UN Senior Leadership Group Recommendations and its relevance to the work of RCOs and UNCTs.
  2. Enhanced access to information, tools, and resources to strengthen the capacity of RCOs and UNCTs to support national governments in integrating disaster risk reduction and resilience into development planning.
  3. Increased awareness of collaboration examples and joint action among UN agencies at the country level.
