Validating the Update of Jordan National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy and Platform Structure Workshop

Background and Objectives:

Since the mid of 2021, and with the support of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction – Regional Office for the Arab States (UNDRR-ROAS), and the United Nations Development Programme – Jordan Office (UNDP-Jordan), and with coordination with the National Center for Security and Crises Management (NCSCSM), Jordan has initiated the process of updating the National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy and Platform structure. This process started with a consultative workshop that included all stakeholders concerned with disaster risk reduction in Jordan, as well as with the participation of all international organizations working in this field. Flowing this consultation workshop, there were intensive and focused group meetings, situation analysis, group exercises, and many related activities that concluded to producing this updated version.

This workshop is aiming at validating the final update of the Jordan National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy and Platform structure.

Date and Venue:

The workshop is planned to take place on 19 and 20 January 2022, with the participation of all national stakeholders from governmental and non-governmental organizations, and from all concerned sectors. (Venue will be at Marriott Resort & Spa, Dead Sea).
