International day for disaster risk reduction
Summary
As every year, on October 13 the International Day of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) is celebrated, an event that has been commemorated since 1989 by the United Nations, institutionalized in 2005, on October 13. During this day, acts are held in various places in the world, among which the Canary Islands and Tenerife already have representation and projection in the field of DRR.
During this day, it is remembered how people and society are reducing their exposure to disasters and how they work to raise awareness about the importance of disaster risk reduction. All this, through the implementation of the MARCO DE SENDAI, 2015-2030.
