UNESCO, UNDRR, UNDP Accelerator Lab, and U-INSPIRE Alliance are implementing a series of activities around promoting Future Thinking on Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience. The aim of these activities is to leverage the collective intelligence and frontier thinking of youth and young professional to develop new ideas, concepts and frameworks for disaster risk reduction and resiliency in 2045.

This webinar is organized around two main objectives that are separated into two main sessions:

1. The objective of the first session is to reminisce and discuss what was envisioned in the past about the present disaster risk reduction and resiliency. This session is to understand and learn from the lessons of past DRR global frameworks. To understand what and how they envisioned the future at that time, what did and did not materialize at the present, and how and why they think it works or failed.

2. The objective of the second session is to introduce the Future Thinking of DRR activities in 2021 and 2022 and the concept and approach of Futures Literacy Laboratory for Disaster Risk Reduction that will be taken by the youth and young professionals as their journey in Future Thinking of DRR and resiliency.
