EW4All Webinar: Accelerating Cell Broadcast for Effective Early Warning Systems in Africa

The Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative calls for every person on Earth to be protected by early warning systems by 2027. Achieving this objective requires strong coordination across all four pillars of the initiative, as well as the implementation of emerging technologies to ensure early warnings reach the last mile. 

Cell Broadcast is increasingly recognized as a powerful technology for public warning. While Cell Broadcast systems are already operational in several regions globally, no country in Africa has yet implemented a fully operational Cell Broadcast-based public warning system. This presents both a challenge and an opportunity. 

This webinar will provide an introductory and practical overview of Cell Broadcast for early warning in Africa. It will bring together practitioners from across the four EW4All pillars to explore how Cell Broadcast can complement existing warning dissemination channels and contribute to people-centred, inclusive and effective early warning systems.

The webinar will be conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation in French.
