About
This side event will discuss on how UNDRR and partners are advancing solutions for countries to better track losses and damages and utilize the data for informing policies and enabling resilience.
Data on hazardous events and disaster impact form critical elements to inform preparedness and early warning systems, risk financing, and disaster recovery. They are also helpful in calibrating risk models, benchmarking progress, and informing decisions in adaptation and disaster risk reduction. The session will deep-dive into such data and assess gaps in availability and access from the lens of use cases. UNDRR and partners will share recent progress in tracking losses and damages and demonstrate current and potential data applications.
