The COVID-19 situation confirmed the close link between health and disaster risk reduction and has forced us to pay better attention to the health aspects of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015 – 2030.

In 2016, Thailand hosted an international conference on the health aspects of the Sendai Framework which resulted in the “Bangkok Principles.” They include seven recommendations to prevent and/or reduce the risk of health emergencies such as pandemics, which have the potential to trigger huge social and economic impacts.

The webinar, organized by Thailand's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and supported by UNDRR Asia-Pacific, aims to provide a better understanding of the health aspects of the Sendai Framework through experience sharing from two key players in Thailand COVID-19 response, DDPM and MOPH. This webinar is part of Thailand’s efforts to implement the Bangkok Principles and the Sendai Framework. The webinar will be conducted in Thai.
