This side event of the High Level Political Forum 2021 (HLPF2021) will focus on the linkage of water and climate change, inviting all member states and stakeholders to share their views and experiences, as well as priority actions countries and international communities. This also recognizes multi-stakeholder partnerships as important vehicles for mobilizing and sharing knowledge, expertise technologies and financial resources, which read in SDG 17.

The event will be an opportunity to demonstrate in practical terms what the comprehensive approach to climate change and water means and why it matters, determine whether and how these actions are practical and can contribute to the Agenda 2030, and share views of future opportunities of the comprehensive approach to climate change and water for the implementation toward the SDGs.

The outcome of this side event will contribute to the implementation during the decade of actions toward the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development, especially for the UN Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the Objectives of the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 in 2023.
