The next Asia-Pacific Partnership for Disaster Risk Reduction (APP-DRR) Forum will be held virtually from 8 to 9 December 2021.

The APP-DRR Forum will be organized against the backdrop of the challenges and recovery opportunities of the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a key event in the run-up to the next Global Platform for DRR (GP22), Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) and  the start of the Mid-Term Review of the Sendai Framework, all occurring in 2022.

To meet the targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sendai Framework by 2030, action must be accelerated to ensure disaster risk is scaled up in every sector, including planning at regional, national and sub-national levels.

The APP-DRR Forum will:

  • Share and review regional progress in disaster risk reduction.
  • Highlight key regional priorities in Asia-Pacific.
  • Discuss implementation of the new Asia Pacific Action Plan 2021-2024.
  • Preview the GP22, APMCDRR and Sendai Framework Mid-Term Review.

The APP-DRR is a multi-stakeholder forum that includes governments, regional inter-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, UN and international organizations and international assistance agencies.
