UNDRR’s Data resources and systems
UNDRR supports risk-informed decision-making through open, accessible data.
This page provides an overview of our data-driven initiatives, linking to key platforms, tools, and technical documentation.
UNDRR is a data-centric organization that serves as a repository of disaster risk reduction data and information received from Member States and stakeholders, besides the data the organization generates through further analyses.
With frameworks for action, platforms and portals for disaster risk reduction, UNDRR collects and publishes data as useful decision-support tools. Substantially improving the quantity and the quality of risk understanding is a core objective of UNDRR and critical for achieving a successful outcome for Sendai Framework implementation.
Accurate, consistent, and comparable data on disaster losses and damages is the foundation for effective action on: The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and The Paris Agreement and global climate adaptation efforts
By tracking losses across people, economies, and ecosystems, countries can measure progress, identify priorities, and make resilience investments that truly deliver results.
